Final check before purchase.

Hello all,
was hoping someone could check the final build I did for a friend before I order it. The build is towards adding a 2nd 780ti at some point (so notice if PSU/Chassis is good enough). Im open for suggestions. :)

I'm not sure if that ram is compatible with that cooler.

i'd say it is
the fury isn't that high and the d15 has cutouts if i'm not mistaken

Arent Fury "low profile" rams? They should be OK. The problem isnt the cutout, its the 2nd fan, however you can move the fan up to make them fit. (like in this picture). Shouldnt affect the performance.

So, with the RAM being compatible, is the case and PSU ok for a 2nd 780ti? 850w should do it, but is it pushing it (no headroom)??? And should I get a full tower for sli, or is midi fine?

Tiny bump, wanna order it today so I dont have to get up early tomorrow to order before shipping deadline.

Ive changed the case; apparently the airflow arent too great in these super silent cases. Its between the Corsair 750D and their new 760T. From what I can read the interior is pretty much identical... 750D is a full tower but is actually £40 cheaper. Does it make sense to get the 760T?

Also still wondering about the PSU. :)

Comes down to personal preference mate. Either case will serve you fine, although airflow in the 760t might be a tad better as the front is completely open/mesh.

PSU is of good quality and plenty wattage to add another GPU down the line.

The NH-D15 might block the top PCI slot of your motherboard, so be careful of that, but it likely won't affect your GPU, which is installed one slot below that.

Cheers. Ill just ask my friend then, see what design he prefers. Ive looked up the NH-D15 on their website and the mobo is listed as compatible and not blocking the PCI (else it shows a Yellow Mark on their website which it doesnt).

Could be better with an AIO cooler like the H80 to save space?

Also, one chunky SSD doesn't make sense to me. I'd get a 128/256GB SSD, and put the rest of that money into a big fat 7200rpm HDD.

My concern with the AIO water coolers are the noise. Everyone seems to prefer air cooling over water when it comes to noise. Not the fans, as they can be replaced, but the pump... Doesnt that sucker make much more noise than an air cooler?

Also to me, I dont see the point in having both an SSD and a regular HDD. This would mean that folders such as Program Files would be on the SSD, but due to its limited space, larger games would have to be put on the HDD meaning you'd have to start making your own folders.

May aswell get all of his things run on the SSD for faster loading times in his games etc.

No mine runs 8 - 12 hours a day and I don't even hear the pump, even on lowest silent fan profile the pump is inaudible and my system is sat around 12 inches from my ear.

Either way the D15 is a top air cooler, if he does wish to go AIO later at least he has the system ready to take one.

Yea, I guess it doesnt make too much sense to have those big metal sinks sitting in your PC when AIOs only needs the radiator (which I guess is a plus as they'll also work as top "exhaust" fans). Thanks.

I'm presuming they are overclocking then?

I will certainly try... Altho when it comes to overclocking im very unpatient, mainly because of my own CPU. I've had to run it at Auto Voltage @ 4.3GHz. I've tried setting 1.27V with no luck. (its a 3570k)

With H100i though I dont get high temps. (40 in Absolution), so I figured with his H110 I should be able to also just use Auto Voltage, or maybe just Asus' automatic OC? (I know they give you very high Voltages, but im really no OC expert).

Anyway, I'll see what I can come up with when I build it next week some time.
