Filling water loop for first time

I have a corsair AX modular power supply unit an a XSPC dual 5.25" bay reservoir pump

Instead of buying a separate power device to power the motor, would it be okay if I simply use an existing standard 4pin peripheral power cable (that connects to the standard 4pin molex of the pump) to start my watercooling process? I have disconnected all other power cables.

As long as nothing else has power and You have bridged/jumpered your 24 pin connecter with a paperclip (YouTube has many guides on this) then connect your pump, fill it up.... Then flip the psu switch

I tried the pump but no response! I forgot to bridge the 24pin connector!! lol

Okay I will try that, hopefully someone has a guide for the AX corsair PS

**Update***

Is it possible to jump start without the ATX Cable? I have sent my cables to Martin for braiding. lol Now my res i filled with liquid.

I'm no expert on the matter but I think you need to bridge the 24pin so that the power supply thinks its actually plugged in(correct me if I'm wrong guys).. so to answer your question: Yes you do need the 24pin =]

well if you knew which they were on the modular plug side of the psu you should be able to jump it there same as if you had it plugged in and jumping the cable.with the cable its the green and any black wire but with out you'd hace to know exactly where they reside on the psu plug

if you have an extra psu laying around or one you can borrow from another rig that woould work as well.

Aaah interesting. So I wold now have to stick the paper clip in the actual PSU rather then in the cable. The corsair AX modular PSU has distinct marking (connectors) for the ATX, ETS and PCI-E so it should be okay.

I will see if I can find an vids just in case

I have forgotten where the green cables was connected
