You get Garbage Collection which does the most important function of TRIM which is to keep the drive working at top speeds by tidying the drive up when you've deleted files.
Also Garbage Collection works independant of any OS as it's built in to the drive so would work on XP for example whereas TRIM wouldn't.
However, the Garbage Collection only kicks in when the drive is in idle. A lot of people force this by leaving their PC on the log in screen for a couple of hours every month or so.
just remember this one fact raid means no trim period for now. Raid will have to use garbage collection which most support with current chips and firmware revisions. Just take the time to check the forums on the device you intend to buy and see if they have GC.
I decided to go with the OCZ Vertex 3 240GB for now. If for some reason I find this is not fast enough for me I might pick up another one and put them in raid :]
Thank you for your thoughts and comments. I really appreciate it.

Bit late but i had the same problem with my F60 on my UD3R, i had my one on the Sata3 ports which were dead slow then changing to Intel ones described above all that changed, so now i get top speed of 200mb there a bouts but still bit slow for what the drive can do.
