i dont kn ow how they have done it but this game is magnificent it is so beautiful. i prefer tropical to mountain but this is so well designed it doesnt matter. also no crashing whatsoever. my 3930k is starting to show its age it seems. i cannot run it maxed at 1440 i have had to make a few cuts here and there. but that doesnt matter. the game is fantastic. I have not got into the meat of the story yet but im starting to develop ideas about who is what.

guys buy this game. show yves guillemot that the master race arent afraid to spend money on their games instead of torrenting it.

you wont regret it.

provided your pc can run the pretty graphics of course

And fund Ubisoft towards their next assassins creed port that will not work on release? No thanks ;)

edit* im not saying id prefer to torrent. Hope you get my drift

they way i look at it is. in business, there are always going to be ballbags. most ballbags you try to avoid because they just suck and need to die. but some ballbags have a product that has potential. so sometimes you just have to deal with the bagness. because one day that ballbag will reward you with greatness.

one day

Can we get that put on a T-shirt? Wraithguard!!

I'm not buying another ubisoft product until they sort their shit out, end of.

as far as i can tell its great. i had a well documented history of problems with fc3/bd. this is also with drivers older than the farcry4 optimised release yesterday. but i shall be firing that on and testing again but 4 hours without a problem for me is a +. fc3 was 5mins hehehe

Ah cool, sounds like a decent deal if I can get it for cheap from CJ's or sommat.

If only I wasn't boycotting Ubisoft. I really enjoyed Far Cry blood dragon and Far cry 3 was fun excluding the dumb ass story.

Keep that boycot up, they bloody well deserve it!

Having watched Totalbiscuit's port report video on that game it seems like it looks good but has some issues.

Yeah, it seems they've not done much with the CPU at all, which is a shame as Far Cry 3 was pretty reasonable with CPU usage/loading the cores evenly.

Listen, we the consumers have the power of money. Buying a game from that company would be like a vote of approval Ubi's policy/culture at this time of speaking!

I've never bought a Ubisoft game on launch and I won't start now. They're getting progressively worse and I don't want any part it.

I don't game that often anyway so I'm happy to pick it up on a sale when most of the bugs should be ironed out.

It's a stuttery mess for me, Tons of people are reporting the same on the Ubi forums, It's a texture streaming issue which messes up GPU usage as seen here -

The memory usage is also kind of funky too -

3.56GB 1440P 4 x TXAA

3GB 1440P No AA

3.50GB 1080P 4 x TXAA

2.80GB 1080P No AA

Now this is running Black Flag, Everything at max same as FC4, No aa, Adaptive V-Sync on to keep the frames at a nice steady rate, 1080P, Same as FC4, As you can see the GPU usage remained mostly stable and delivered a solid 60 fps the whole time -

Got it free before anyone asks and no not through downloading, It's the official version.

The only bone I have to pick with Ubisoft is when are they going to bring out a successor to Anno 2070, it's been too long! Stop with the web-based crap...

That frame rate hitching in FC4 is disappointing and means I'll be waiting a bit to play it until I hear it's fixed. I'm still pissed at Watch Dogs, biggest pile of shit I've seen since I last had a curry during a visit to Birmingham, and the performance of FC4 is starting to smell similar.

In all honesty I never really had a problem running Watch_Dogs at max 1080P no AA, It's only when AA was introduced the game turned into a stutter fest.

Anyway here is FC4 max settings, The frame rate is a consistent 60 but the stuttering is headache inducing -

I don't like the look of the game tbh, I got bored after Far Cry 2 driving up the dirt roads to outposts, killing them all and moving on to then have to go through it again later on.

It didn't sound great on the IGN review apart from graphics.

Its down to CPU usage from what I've read (unless thats another issue) that causes the texture streaming to mess up,hence the bursts of activity on your GPU. I think it pretty much piles it all onto a single thread (check your cpu usage on core three or two next time you try it, it should max out one core when you're driving around) and there is no way around it currently.

The game has many issues, Uneven CPU/GPU usage, Bad texture streaming which all lead to the stuttering so many are experiencing but knowing Ubi they won't update this for some time without blaming peoples hardware first.

What makes it worse is that only certain hardware combos have certain issues and even then it depends on other factors.

Typical Ubisoft. Its a shame as Far Cry 3 (for the most part) actually was a decent-ish port. A few SLI issues but otherwise it was fine.

Ah well, back to playing a decent far cry game. Hey Blood Dragon ^_^
