Fancy a new laptop ?

So many hours from now, a certain booth (South 3 30368) @ CES is going to be open and showing off the G60Jx (ASUS G60JX-JX032V).

(was going to insert image, but it looks like it was a generic asus laptop pic rather than the real thing)

Merely comes with:

Intel i5 430M

4G Ramage

GTS 360M

1366x768 screen (16")

500GB HDD

Something around €1000 maybe ? Which we all know will be £1000.

Nice ""mid range"" laptop from ASUS, that I wouldn't mind for myself.

Now that's not the top of the range. There are meant to also be releasing the G51Jx (ASUS G51JX-SZ041V), which only has:

Intel i7 720QM

8G Rambo

GTS 360M

1920x1080 (15.6" ??)

500GB HDD

pffft. Another €600 more. Strange one for me tho, as it seems to give with one hand and take with another. For example the N61Ja (ASUS N61JA-JX046X), again around €1000:

Intel i5 430M

4G Ramage

Mobility 5730

1600x900 screen (16")

500GB HDD

In anycase, I for one would love to get my greasey mits on one of those laptops. Would the look of it sway u in anyway ? Like the looks of my Elitebook. *sniff*

We may be needing one as our venerable Dell is having display issues. If I'm spending £1000 on a laptop though, I'll get a Macbook Pro.

hmmm I dunno

Really? I've had a host of laptops (plus we get every model of Dell at work), and Apple's stand out head and shoulders above the rest. Only one I've seen come close is Sony's Vaio

Yeah they're really good. I took my mbr apart the other week to ssd and 4g it and u can tell the quality going on.

We do repairs to the Dells etc, and yeah they're not so good. Along with the IBMs and such.

But I am extremely impressed with the latest HP business laptop builds like the elitebooks, perhaps not the previous models. But then they're a pemium also.
