Fallen Angel

I can do a MSpaint but it wouldn;t be very accurate lol. I'm just sort of going with the flow at present, trying different stuff as I move along. Nothing too radical but not really a thoroughly planned project either. I prefer to work by inspiration

Did you do the front and back side of the motherboard tray or only the front?

Looks great by the way cant wait to see more

Amazing work dude. The level of detail is just awesome. What hardware have you decided on to build this beast?

Rampage III extreme

i7920

GSkill falcon 128gb SSD

3x1TB Samsung F3

GTX470 SLI

Asus Xonar DX2

Just the front, no call to do the back is there?

Because x58 outperforms sandybridge in what I use the pc for.

Next upgrade won't be until x68 tbh. I buy and sell hardware all the time like most folk here so when I fancy a change no doubt this setup will find a new home too.

Managed to get quite a bit done today.

5.25/HD racks:

These were easy enough to do however I won't be making all of the cutouts as I prefer the 'stealth' look. The only holes that will be cut in these are for what I need (Blueray + HD racks).

It's all coming together nicely now. Here's some shots with the mobo tray in place:

Next up, a few little details....

Details:

After spraying the HD racks red and liking the look I went on to do a few more little touches:

I was gonna use some plain black rubber edging for the cable cutouts but thought I'd give the stock ones a lick of paint:

...and while I had my overalls on, I painted the thumbscrews to match the build theme:

Here's how it looks thus far:

That pretty much finishes the internals for now. There might be a few more little touches here and there but I don't want to over do it. Simple but effective is the way forward now.

Epic matey! Was thinking of something similar but it wouldn't go that well with my case. Red+CF looks the dog's bollocks though! With the red ROG board in it and possibly some Mushkin Redline it would be stunning.. just get a pair of 5870s will you?

Looking fantastic! it's those little touches that build to something great

The cable management hole's red accent is great

I am, well I will be once the braiding is sorted.

Why would I wanna downgrade?

Looking awesome already especially the red HDD cages next to the carbon fiber

Looking good m8, love the black and red theme.....

The Mrs thinks it looks very 1980's :0 I like it personally and hope it will match the rest of the kit that I intend using.

This is well good w3bbo! As always your build logs are beautifully made and put together. Keep it up!

Thank you.

Looks awesome mate! I've always stayed away from vinal as I find it too hard to work with.

Yeah it can be a pain, especially around rivets and screw holes but for the most part, if the surface is flat it's pretty straight forward.

Looks great as always w3bbo

Cheers m8.

Match the colour scheme while keeping it cooler and quieter. I don't think it'd be a downgrade tbh - 5870 slays 470 where it matters. Anyway.. it came out kinda wrong and I'm sorry. I absolutely adore Red+Black.

No need to appologise m8. I'm happy for all input and no offence was taken. I thought 470 sli was higher performing than 5870's though? Add to the fact I got both for £300 and I can't really grumble! I was considering getting the 5970 but couldn't really turn down the deal for the 470's. Glad we agree on the red/black theme though and don't worry - the cards will match the build I assure you m8
