External 1TB WD Passport HDD RAW

hey guys, i have a 1TB WD Passport drive, i tried reformatting it and it told me "windows was unable to complete the format".

I went to disk management and it showed the drive and next to it RAW.
I change the drive letter and tried reformatting but still same error.

Then i did a firmware update, which completed successfully but again it would not format. Drive picks up but cant get it to format.

Would be a waste of 1TB

You might need to wipe the whole disk using something like DBAN:

is the SES driver installed for the WD 1TB?
in device manager, there should be a WD Drive Management-> WD SES Device
if not, go to WD support and d/l that driver.. was on the drive before formatting.
