I am going to set up extended desktop when my MB arrives but i dont want games to stretch across i only want games on monitor 1 so my question is what will happen to the 2nd screen when i run a game and will the mouse be locked to monitor 1 when in game or will i be trying to figure out where it is?

also what happens if i go full screen on monitor 2 will it just fill that monitor or go onto monitor 1?

Depends on whether it is Nvidia or ATi they both handle it differently.

Being a AMD 6990 user, what happens when you do full screen mode and the other monitor is left on you get some nasty flicker (which is due to AMD no having a F***ing clue on how to make drivers). When you full screen a game with 2 monitors the game will play on the main display, and no if it is in full screen your courser can not escape that screen (some games may be different). But some games like L4D2 have the ability to do window mode with no border so its the same thing as full screen with the added benefit of utilizing the other screen.

ah ok so you cant see the rest of the desktop then on monitor 2 would have been nice as i could see cpu usage and such whilst gaming.

If you do full screen you will still see the desktop on screen 2 but it will completely frozen as well as anything on it.

You could always use a program like Ultramon and set a Hot Key to turn the other monitor off when gaming......

I used to use 2 monitors, and when I had both active, the game would play on the main monitor, but you could still see a bit of desktop on the second, but when in a game you wouldn't be able to get your mouse pointer over there, until you either minimize the game or came out completely.

Ultramon is a good bit of software check it out.
