Is the PRO worth the price difference for life span and speed? Also does the PRO have the nice software (samsung magician?) like the EVO ?

If you have the money then deffo the 840 Pro. If you're on a budget (or at least somewhat), the Evo will serve you fine

I got an evo awesome ssd it also comes with some cool software and looks better imo

tbh from what i've red there really isn't much in it when it comes to day-2-day stuff and gaming just go with whatever is cheapest

tbh i got lucky at CEX new and still sealed, they miss priced it at £105

These are my current HDD's pretty sure they are all 7200rpm.
I benched their speed a while ago and i think the read was around 50-60mb
Two 500gb are Hitachis
Main 320gb is Seagate
200gb is maxtor

I mostly play games but also occasionally edit videos etc. I also use adobe programs a fair amount.

as for black friday, i have no idea, but if you buy one now and the price goes down you could pick up a 2nd one for video editing or raid0 them.

or if your really, really lucky wait for the 500gb, 750gb or 1tb to drop in price....

Why is the Pro better besides the MLC NAND?

Does it outweigh the cost over the EVO with it's SLC NAND for reads/writes up to 1Gb/s?

SLC? No consumer SLC nand on market for consumers that i know. Pro=MLC. Evo=TLC

Evo will die faster. Simple as and it's "boost" feature is sort of a gimmick. As an OS ssd pro will be worth it over an Evo. For storage and games an Evo would be better because it can have more storage at a nice price.

Works when under heavy stress. Only happens during benchmarks and not very much in gaming.
