I was browsing NVIDIA forum treads today...looks like it will be WDDM 2.0 Fermi driver soon.I saw ManuelG post in latest driver tread:):o
 
I've been shocked at a lot of things Nvidia have done over the years but not bothering to support a low end card from about four years ago certainly isn't really one of them.

AMD doesn't even really support anything before GCN and that was 4 years ago too. Time moves on and so does tech. Can't blame them. It's how they urge older hardware users to upgrade in the first place anyways I would assume.

We get it. Your old card still works a bit. So does my 1982 Alfasud which is actually more surprising considering it was made by Italians after a long lunch completely out of rust and automagical engineering.

No company is going to continue support of old products indefinitely. I think the Nvidia rep did really well to answer your questions despite the obvious attempt to bait.

Should have put your $60 COD money towards a newer card. AMD or Nvidia. The choice is yours.
 
The moment I see dailymotion I won't click it's just an ad-fest, at least with Youtube you have the skip option after 4 seconds.

Depends on the Video i very rarely see the option to skip video so i have to sit there and witch the ad which is why i mute the ad and un mute once the video starts.

The GTS 450 IIRC was £100 at launch when the 480 was selling for £400+

I know, because a mate of mine bought two of them for SLI. He was looking at the GTX 470 but the 450s beat it and came in at nearly £100 less. Plus they were MSI after market (they looked like little mini GTX 480 Lightnings).

Any way, they served him well but these days you can get a APU with a GPU pretty much as good or better than the 450.

I know the guy lives in Serbia and things are very different there (we're fat spoiled pigs in comparison) but yeah, even there a 450 is still pretty dated tech.

It's a shame I don't have any spares I would have sent him something better, but my wife made me sell all of them (and I gave away the rest).

There is no ads on dailymotion just use adblock plus
