Looks like NVIDIA refuse to give Fermi DX12 driver looks like we are screwed

I was contacted NVIDIA with chat to ask them how many months we will wait for DX12 support on older Fermi gtx 400 and 500 gpu-s...As i remember there was nvidia announcement that dx12 driver will come later,in time when first dx12 game content arrive...and after that we have silence from green team... Here is exclusive nvidia chat below in my signature, be shocked now. Thank you NVIDIA one more way to treat customers.....

Not really shocked by the conversation to be fair, he answered quite professionally considering you were trolling him for an answer to a question he didn't have an answer for.

This.

Edited because I can't type "+ 1" without it disappearing.

As far as I'm aware the GTX 400, 500, 600, 700, 800M, 900 and Pascal will support DX12. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/dx12/supported-gpus?field_gpu_type_value=All&page=4

Previous agent has write that DX12 driver is coming very soon when i ask him 10 days ago, now they are silent they clearly thinking to give us or not...They will probably never release dx12 driver for Fermi not profitable for them....buy NVIDIA Maxwell ..i was trying to troll them this time and make them angry,,,,he has make post and delete it 2 times in converation ahahahaahaa i saw typing notification

I just read latest article on this amazing OC3D website... Anno 2205 has been benchmarked and tested, showing a massive advantage for Nvidia Maxwell GPUs at the highest settings. How can a GTX 960 beat a GTX 780?

shame on you nvidia...Thats why i am still using icafe 344.47 to have 5-6 fps boost in all latest games on my old Fermi card...latest driver is slower. Thats our NVIDIA way to be played :D:cool:

It's a little early to be talking DX12 drivers really, when game developers are only just starting to scratch the surface for future games. As for borking the drivers so that people buy the latest and greatest.. that just called progress, the 780 is good but the revised architecture on the 960 is starting to shine and with every new driver it will continue to improve.. they've revised driver after driver pushing the architecture of the 700 series now its the turn of the 900 series. No hardware gets left behind they will do the same with Pascal, and Maxwell will appear to suffer in the same way, like I say it's just progress.

As far as using 3rd party drivers, I used to do the same with OmegaDrivers when every frame and bit of juice mattered, it simply doesn't anymore (for me at least).

Yes it is progress but also planned obsolence.....i still remember massive complains on NVIDIA forums about Kepler and NVIDIA has snap and released driver witcher 3 kepler fix with 10-11 more average fps...They would never give that inprovement without massive pressure from entire community.....as i say i am using right now 344.47 icafe which have very nice Fermi boost 5-6 fps more in all games... there is one more good but older driver too...I had tested all latest drivers and they perform much worse, and quadro moded driver are even worse.......i have nvidia letter how much you are willing to pay to give you exclusive data....that was unforgetable moments.......i was talking with NVidia way to be played 3 years ago......;):D

Dear Nvidia,

I am aware that I have not purchased a GPU from yourself for 5-6 years now. I was wondering, with DX12 just round the corner, would you be able to make my hardware good again? I hear that DX12 will become a standard within the gaming industry and my card already struggles to play modern gaming titles. So please, please, please let me know if my card will get support for all the DX12 niceness instead of me just upgrading like those other PC elitists.

wishfully thinking,
Troll

P.S. I tried to ask Santa for a console as i hear they can last 10 years plus. Unfortunately his live web chat option was not available for me to tell him about the PCMR being screwed over!

Im assuming it will also be Nvidia fault when your card cant cope with DX12 too?

Seriously dude youre making this a much bigger issue than it is. Of course they are going to keep their driver team working on newer stuff. If you had spent £500 on a GTX980 Ti and then found out they were spending time working on drivers for some morons GTX450 thats just moaning all the time you would get narky at that.....

Then again it sounds like youd moan about anything.

Breaking News! Card manufacturer wants customers to buy new cards to keep up with advancements in games and technology!

Seriously, Stalker, do you think DX12 is going to magically triple your frame rate overnight? Nvidia don't owe you anything, they gave you the card you purchased that performs at a certain level and they have no obligation at all to offer you any form of performance increase. If you want better performance, buy a better card.

Also, stop double posting.

quickly reading this. and the only correct point is see is a 960 should not be able to outperform a 780 ti
if its just a standard gtx 780 though. then its probably right.

-edit-
i went and looked at the 1st image
and i think this is just trolling..

we have always known that dx 12 will be in tiers and mre recently we learnt that amd have been building gpus that can utilieze dx 12 better than nvidia since the hd7xxx cards (about the time they were pushing mantle, as this was very similar) nvidia did not back mantle and so didnt exploit the hardware in a way to utilize it. even the gtx 9xx cards dont have the hardware to properly benifit from dx12.
Complaning that these cards will only have basic dx 12 support when the 9xx cards will have more is pretty obsoleet. the next gen of nvidia cards will be the ones for full dx12 higher tier usage.
this argument is futile, and something that i would expect to be posted by those click bait internet tabloids.

this is not note worthy..

AMD cards will be better off with dx12 than nvidia cards. but none of that matters. you will get basic level access which is all you need to play dx 12 games. and if you have a hd 5770 or a gtx 480 And can still use it with dx 12 then that is a whole LOT better than you have had it with dx since direct-x 9c.

Aren't the 400 and 500 series cards stupidly power hungry?

I'd prefer to invest in upgrading and get some cash back in terms of my electric bill ;) it won't be much but its money saved anyway.

Would like to see what settings you are actually playing on, also what sort of fps you are getting.

Just look at these...amazing settings i am still enjoy..3-4 fps more without Bandicam recording keep that in mind... 344.47 icafe driver

I am happy, consider i paid 120 eur in 2010 ahahahahhaa :D;)

Mad Max isn't that graphically intensive TBH I max it out at 1080p and get 60+ Fps, that's with a lowly GTX 750 Ti.

with the hitching and frame times on that, I don't think i'd bother, also no AA, and I'm fairly sure the 450 doesn't know what Ambient Occlusion even is, much less is it applying it to that MGS gameplay. I'd want to put your settings, next to a modern GPU with the same settings and compare IQ.

There is almost no hitching without recording..Bandicam is heavy and record on same partition..yes there is no AO but thats usually taxing.....but consider how cheap it was its fairly great, especially for people who are playing on lower resolutions..i am waiting for amd next gen middle gpu to upgrade after 6 years :D;)

So what you're saying is, it's not actually playing it at the settings you had it set on then is it?

And thus it's not comparable to current benchmarks on modern cards that know wtf AO is either?
