EVGA vs ASUS GTX680

I'm planning to buy GTX 680 2Hand.
And just a question because I don't find much on the internet.
The GTX680 from ASUS has a higher clock speed than the EVGA, does this matter much?
Will this have a big difference in name of performance?(%)
The ASUS card has DC2O and DC2T, what is that??

In futere I will use maybe SLI.
I will not OC...
So what's the best?
Also say why...

Thanks and sorry for my english

You can overclock yourself anyway, so ignore OC versions.

Which EVGA are you looking at?
The DCII is the version of the cooler on the Asus. It's geerally considered one of the best.

You may be better off looking for 670s. There's very little performance difference between the two, for quite a big price difference. So the 670s are definitely worth looking at.

Asus coolers tend to cool better as EVGA usually sticks to the reference coolers (except on the signature edition cards). Big advantage with the EVGA cards is that the coolers exhaust the hot air out the back of the case where the Asus cards would spread it around in the case. For an SLI set-up, I would go EVGA to prevend the cards from heating themselfs up by cooling with warm air.

Like James said, a GTX 670 might be better. The performance difference is minimal but the price difference maken it worth it. EVGA GTX 670 FTW edition cards have a GTX680 PCB and cooler :)

Ahhhhaaaaa ASUS...
Of course EVGA, best NVIDIA based graphic cards.
If you don't want to pay less price for EVGA GTX680 stock or you don't want 14 phase and 4GB with Classified and you don't want waterblock out of box under warranty everything for fast connection you can simply buy this

And I can beg this card can cool same like all non reference cards with better support and nicer card for two slots, easy for SLI if you need once when price drop.

Here is EVGA GTX6xx Series Comparasion Models, Clock, Cooling, Overclocking, Phase, Power Input

You can search more for some specific model.

That's got to be the sexiest air cooled EVGA card I've seen. However for the OP, DC2O is the stock clock version, the DC2T is the overclocked

Heard there were a lot of issues with the Asus DCU II Top cards though. No one even sells them anymore where I live. Sure there's a reason for that :p

Advantage of the reference coolers is that they exhaust warm air out the back of the case instead of inside the case and then use that same warm air to cool themselfs

Yeah, but as long as you have decent case air flow, that shouldn't really be a problem.
I'd sooner take a quieter aftermarket 670, like the KFA2/Galaxy, Asus DCII or Gigabyte Windforce, over an EVGA 670 FTW.

I'd only want a FTW if it would be watercooled.

I have a 670 FTW, personally can't hear it over my casefans (Storm Trooper, fans on low). It's on the ground now though, so not right next to my face ;)

I do agree with you on the aftermarket cooling thing for silence (and better cooling), but I *personally* don't mind it. Most of the time there will be either music or game sounds that will make my entire pc inaudible anyway :p

Heh, so do I.
The cooler is definitely louder than the KFA2 one, and the KFA2 does a better job of cooling the card too.
I'm not saying the FTW is loud, but some of the aftermarket solutions are quieter.

ASUS DirectCU II I can't look any more. I always remember my fault ENGTX580 DCII.
Few months I fight with their support and finaly when EVGA show GTX580 Classified that was finish, I ask refund immediately. 3 slot cooler and 1.5GB ram, WHY??? for what 3 slot cooler when card is nothing special and it's far from OC monster. I don't know how to hold card to Install in case, big, unpleasant Seasonic PSU cables hold one end of card to stay right in case... Now I choose only closed cards from all sides, yes this EVGA Signature is far nicer non reference dual cooler card on market...that's option just for people who used on Lightening, DirectCU II and similar but love totaly closed non stock with double video memory.

EVGA GTX680 SuperClocked Signature 2 02G-P4-2687-KR

1097 MHz GPU
1163 MHz Boost Clock
2048 MB, 256 bit GDDR5
6208 MHz (effective)
198.66 GB/s Memory Bandwidth

Look like this...

and consider look, NVIDIA chip, cooling system, technical support it's far best graphic card option today for non Classified fans...

That always happen with me and EVGA when search something I continue to look that next 2h because everything look excellent.

anything from asus ,gigabyte, msi with their aftermarket coolers.the evga is just a stock cooler.it will make you happy with low temps and low noise.
