They did make a Dual Socket ROG board but only as a concept they didn't bring it to market. I think this shows they did think at one time it would be a good product but didn't go through with it for some reason. I expect the fact the new xeon's cannot overclock has something to do with it.

If color is important SR-X, If neatness is important Z9PE.
Just don't f-up and get a SR-2. That board got serious issue and I got on so I know.
Gaming aside, for graphic rendering the Xeons might just be better. But i would say buy them and then eak out every last cent on nVidia Quadro cards and atleast 2 GtX 680s.
