EVGA GTX 1080 Roundup

The Hybrid looks quite nice and simple. I question peoples taste when they say the classy card looks nice ;) its as tacky you can get and looks like its aimed for a 15yr old.

Really how do you come to that, IMO all of the EVGA cards looks better than most of the other ones.

TBH The MSI card looks like it's aim at 15 year old

Oh I totally agree about the MSI. It is just as bad.

Why oh why, if they were so obsessed with stupid RGB lighting, that they didnt make those red accents in a clear light enhancing polycarbonate like Lexan, so the RGB would maximise its effect.

To be fair, before RGBs became "mainstream" everyone was asking for it.. now that it's here no one wants it. Older(well mature i'd say) prefer subtle lightning, whereas the kids want the blindly bright neon crap... what sells more? Well looks like the bright crap does..

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Everything has rgb lighting now and the bigger and brighter the better. I like rgb lighting subtley lighting my custom loop. It reminds me of a time in the not so distant past that every low end builder put cold cathode lights in open window builds to make them gamer rigs

ASUS Strix 1080 has subtle (not bright) lighting.

Well others have experienced it. More than one. All you know it was freezing cold in that room which is why it didn't throttle.. not saying it was but fact is that one person says it's not, whereas multiple people are. I'd be more inclined to believe the multiple.. if you want depth on it, look Jayz video on it. There isn't fanboy naysayers..it's just the truth for the FE
I saw an MSI 1080 boost by itself, without an overclock, to over 2000Mhz. That wasn't always consistent, but no FE I've seen has come close to that without creating the right environment for it—cold ambient temps, water cooling, cherry-picking, etc. So yeah, AIB is the absolute way to go. The only reason to go FE is still if you want the largest selection of water blocks, want to SLI, or you have a really small chassis.

Wouldn't a card with a (crappy) custom cooler prove a better choice than a FE when putting them under water? Don't the cheap ones usually sport the refence PCB?
