Zotac 3070 on website in norway for $600 equiv. Which considering its Norway is on par with what MRRP would be here. And that has nothing to do with price hikes. Its just import tax coverage. Add on 40% of that cost and you have the MRRP here.
Here is another site, for slightly higher. So again on norway terms, its on par with the announcement.
I've done a lot of studying about Norway, and it's a very liberal country. They don't take shortcuts on health and other things we do in the U.K, and thus it comes at a cost.
I know you will probably take this as me being negative again, but for once read what I say and then if I am wrong in a few month's time come back with a nice serving of humble pie please.
The first round of cards will be very limited in supply. There is a reason for this. Once they are gone and Nvidia are back to looking good then RDNA2 and the new consoles come along.
Once that happens and Nvidia know the market they will launch more cards. Only they will have more VRAM and will be considerably more expensive. Or, this scarcity could well be a plan they have to increase the prices of the cards they are launching now without even having to add more VRAM. They will do it by "pricing by scarcity". IE - small numbers means higher prices.
We've not even got Ampere yet, yet the whole damn internet world is absolutely ALIGHT with rumours of cards with more VRAM on. Before the release has even happened.
Now you can quote me on every single word of this, and if, by January, what I am saying is a load of old moo poo? quote me back and I will indeed eat a very large slice of humble pie. I'm never too old to accept when I am wrong.
Look man, I really, REALLY wish it didn't need to be like this. I do. I wish I could genuinely love PC stuff as much as I do, and cherish every new release. The problem is? I spent 20 years in the 90s to 2010 getting burned, and nothing has changed since. 30 years of buying and building PCs has unfortunately taken its toll of BS on me.
As I say, if I am wrong come January and my expectations (they are not even predictions either which is quite sad really) of Nvidia are blown out of the water? let me know.
