€1000 - Build for a friend, Advice please?

Hello everybody,
my friend has €1000 to spend on a new PC and i've been trying to put something together for him but i just can't squeeze everything into €1000, everything includes mouse, keyboard and monitor... If it's worth it he can probably pay anoter €100 extra but if possible stay under €1000..

What site are you using? I don't actually know any off hand that are based in The Netherlands.
Also, I'd find it hard suggesting a mouse/keyboard, just because it depends so much on personal preference.

just simple gaming, dont need a very good GPU.. He plays alot of minecraft and does internet browsing, he wants an overall very fast computer

an i3...? My computer is €1600 and i have a 2500K w/ a HD 7970 which was €530 on its own!

Did prices really go up that much in the last 4 / 5 months?

For the stuff he needs, i.e. Minecraft, the SSD will make much more of an impact than the CPU. An i3 with an SSD, through general use, shall feel far more responsive than an overclocked i7 and a run of the mill HDD. Also, for gaming, GPUs are far more important; don't let the i3 fool you.

yes i realize that but an i3 just seems so cheap for a €1000 build..

That's just over £800. Factoring in the OS and the monitors, £590. Feel free to take the SSD away and get him an i5, but he won't really notice the difference.

Nowadays i'd say an SSD as a boot drive (and games, frequently used programmes etc...) at least is kinda needed, HDD's are just too slow tbh, and the prices of SSD are plummeting too. Seeing as the usage for the PC is less intensive games and internet usage i 100% agree with your build with an i3 and an SSD. I'll be picking one up soon enough myself, and OP i'd suggest your friend's build should have one included too, he and you will definitely not regret it
