ESD when working in case?

So I recently was touching stuff inside my case, no PSU installed, just motherboard and cpu installed.

I forgot to use a ESD arm wrist couple of times, now I wonder if the motherboard/cpu can have gotten ESD damage?

Its fine not to wear a zap strap as long as you regularly touch your case to discharge any static. When I install stuff I normally have my wrists in direct contact with the case, and before I pick up any hardware I touch the case. As long as the static electricity is not discharged through the component you should be OK.

+1 on the above. I did the same when building my rig.

So is the case big enough to discharge, as I said only motherboard and case so no PSU or grounding, So can I work inside a case that just has motherboard inside it and not worry about ESD?

You just have to touch something metal to discharge. As we said above just touch the case before handling other components and you will be fine.
