I am breathless. And it will run even better with more details on High-End PCs... A wonderful time to be a gamer and technology enthusiast.
I don't know if RT haters still believe that you can do all this with traditional "cheat" methods.

Looks great
Depends how much they are leveraging streaming IO, PCs are behind compared to the IO on the PS5.
What do you mean by IO in this instance? Is it storage bandwidth?
Some kind of cache? genuinely confused here.
He's referring to Storage access yes. IO just stands for Input/Output.
So if they are utilizing the ps5 SSD to the max it's maximum IO access is above what any consumer SSD on PC can do so if that was true, this demo wouldn't run as well on PC and would need further optimization.
If they didn't and they just used say a normal NVMe/SSD drive then it would be fine on PC so long as the PC had that similar storage type.
Thanks, although i knew what IO stands for it just was too general a use, I wasn't sure what he was referencing specifically.
Just did some reading, apparently the SSD is connected by a '12 channel interface' not sure what the interface is though. PCI sata etc.
Probably some special sauce stuff going on to allow fast loading of textures and geometry into graphics memory too
