Hey guys,

I have just purchased the parts for my PC, the first one I've ever compiled and made myself. My budget became limited to under $1,800. So, before I get these parts I thought I'd start a log of parts, and then start posting pictures when I get them next week.

MOBO: ASUS Sabertooth P67

CPU: Intel 2500k

COOLER: CoolIT Vantage ALC

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X (2x4Gb @ 1.333mhz)

GPU: ASUS 560 Ti DirectCU II

OS DRIVE: OCZ Vertex 2 80Gb

STORAGE: Western Digital Caviar Green 1Tb

PSU: XFX 750w Black Edition

FUTURE UPGRADES

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X (2x4Gb @ 1.333mhz)

GPU: ASUS 560 Ti DirectCU II

STORAGE: Western Digital Caviar Green 1Tb x4

SOUNDCARD: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty Champion

OPTICAL: Silverstone Slim DVD/RW + Silverstone TS03 Combo Drive Bay

OVERLOCK

CPU: 4.6Ghz

GPU: Voltage @ 1.05v, Core @ 925mhz, Shader @ 1850mhz, Memory @ 2250mhz

RAM: 1600mhz 9-9-9-24

Note that the future upgrades, I will be getting over time as I need them, the GPU and storage for example. I will be getting the soundcard and optical drive within the next 2 months though

So that's basically my log for reference. I will begin updating this within the week. Thanks for all the help in building this guys, I really appreciate it.

why are you using ram with low speeds? just asking as i have noticed that people are using 1333mhz ram and pairing it up with a powerful cpu surely it will bottleneck :S

Every ram if not overclocked will run at 1333mhz (core series)

I know. I was originally going to get the H60, but I prefered the actual look of the Vantage. I won't be overclocking too hard, I should've actually added those figures in. My plan is to get about 4.6-.8 Ghz on the CPU stable, and just have the RAM at 1600mhz. I don't think it'd be too hot considering the case and the fact most people get 2500ks on 5ghz just on air.

I saved myself $60, and I can just overclock the RAM to 1600mhz anyway, and put the timing just a slight bit slower. We shall see if my plan works!

I finally got around to getting pics of my current trash.

As you can see, I have amazing cable management. I can give a few pointers if need be.

Yes, it actually does sit there with the side panel off. The fans are basically broken, and I wasn't bothered to replace them. Soon this little treasure will be attached to my TV for super fun server times!

That's just my general other bits. Will be replacing my headset in the coming month, and perhaps getting a new screen, as that one has scratches from when my ex-girlfriend packed it facing down on a power chord >:|

Haha, nah it used to look clean, then it all turned to shit. I'm going to make the new one my precious and baby it. Starting to plan out my downloads and plan for tomorrow.

I think the only nice parts on my current setup are the mouse and keyboard

The parts have finally arrived! I shall be unboxing them soon. Funnily enough, the courier arrived as I had my dacks dropped with my ass hung over a toilet.

Here's after they've been unpacked. A few pictures of the Raven as well in case anyone was fanging too much and couldn't wait for Toms review.
