I'm a bit mystified by this announcement... Why would EKWB go the Thermaltake route? The only reason I can think of is they are actually being pressed hard by the competition right now (if the radiator is in fact aluminium). Besides I was expecting them announcing a replacement for the Predator AIO, but that didn't seem to happen

I think they felt the design wasn't quite right and went back to the drawing board. There were quality control issues as well. I'm pretty sure they're coming out with a version two soon enough.

This kit is priced right, but the components are not especially good. Your GPU will be nice and cool, but a high-end air cooler for €80 would cool the CPU better. High-end water cooling needs to be cheaper. If you're going to skimp on the quality and the performance of the water cooling, you may as well stick with air.

I love water cooling I really do but these guys need to find a way of making GPU blocks cheaper. They really do. And not like £10 cheaper, more like £50 or something.

The problem is you can't compare the two directly. Water vs Air
Copper cost 3 times as much as alu.
I don't know, but i would think the production cost is higher in watercooling. (Rad fins, CNC milling)
I know fittings are expensive, but think of what goes into producing them.

Does it matter guys? $150 isn't bad at all. Cheaper or Same price as a x62 yet it would look way nicer. Well to me it would. You're paying for the looks and AIO levels of performance. If you wanted looks and performance, you'd be looking at something in a different class. Tbh this is a really good idea for EK.

Guru3D just released a review of the 240 unit with the GPU block.

As expected, a Noctua NH-D15S cools the CPU as well as the EKWB when adding a GPU to the loop. The EKWB is slightly better when no GPU is in line. Noise levels are around the same.

but the e is aluminum wouldnt touch that on a water loop for all the $$$ I can see it now lots of folks buying this cause its cheap then adding copper parts to the mix and crying when things go badly.
