EK Rampage 5 Extreme and GTX980 Waterblocks

I don't have my rig set up yet in a case (Corsair George needs to be castrated IMO for that Yellow 780T launch failure) but I do have the qualifying parts including a 5960X. I'm also still waiting on a watercooled 980 (tried the EVGA hydrocopper cards but had to send them back).

Why would I like this kit? I'm building a system called The Shelby. It's a yellow and black theme. I've always been a huge Mustang fan and thought it would be nice to play homage to Carroll Shelby who passed away. I'd like to include 4 GPU's in the cooling loop (I already have the rads, fans, pump, res, tubing).

I've had the mobo and CPU sitting here since September waiting for the right EK kit. I've been holding out for their R5E monoblock since hearing about it, but after so many months, I'd just like to get my system finally up and running.

Wow Great review! I am currently building my first CPU and want to thank you for making me aware of these water cooling products. I am just trying to afford the final piece of the build which is my water cooling and these would allow me to complete my rig. Either way, your reviews have helped me and I want to personally thank you regardless If I am fortunate enough to win these.... I was looking at XS-PC water cooling but these are more the style I am looking for. My Case will arrive tomorrow and I purchased the Thermaltake Core X-9 .... Kind regards Pete

Didn't take long for people to ask for free stuff..

EK blocks to me look nice but something about them makes me not like them. But i must admit that Pastel EK coolant was fucking sexy.

Awkward

In the end it helps attract more people to OC3D and folk like free stuff. It may get people in to watercooling (especially the winner!) which is again no bad thing.

+1 this - Ive asked people to show off their wares and try and get people sharing on the forums

This is not an entry just a fun pic.

My latest PC I am still working on

There is a Rampage 5 Extreme/5960X in there somewhere.:D

Great Video, the water blocks are great.

Hi,
I was planning to get the rampage v water blocks to complete my build but the csq elite style was not in stock. Would be nice to get them to complete my rig. (I got the GPU/CPU blocks already.)

Have fun and continue making this great videos!

Pretty sure it is yeah :D

Once you get used to them they are great for watercooled builds with room for 3 x 480mm rads.

They are all aluminium with no plastic at all and the paint finish does not attract dust like a magnet.

The downside is they are pretty basic which I quite like anyway.

Before you put any parts in a LDV8 they are so light you can pick them up with one finger.:D

The only thing that takes getting used to is the price. But those cases are fantastic.

Gtx 980

Hey TTL long time viewer first time contestant. I want to enter the contest for the 980 waterblock. I'm looking to build a custom water-cooling loop for the first time and want to go old school with a crazy UV water cooling loop. I had just replaced my 670 a little bit ago after it went bad with a 970. I have trip monitors and having all the crazy stuff with the 970 go on, I decided to switch out for the 980. This is my first time getting the high-end card from nvidia, so this would be an amazing part for the rig and would go great with the 4930k system. I'm also hoping to put my gamer tag in UV vinyl or paint on the back of the card so it will light up in the case with the UV light on and the surface of that card is perfect also I could fill the symbol in the lower right with UV color as well to get it to illuminate in the case as well. Please please please think of me when you select your winner I would appreciate it and pics will be coming when I get the card on friday thank you so much for your consideration!

would love to have the GTX980 block etc as having to build this rig has been painful

I wish i could show you something - right now its just a series of boxes. I am trying to build a very small very high power rig for use with an Oculus DX2
For the gearheads in all of us: the build consists of SG06 with hopefully a SFXL psu, an alphacool UT60 120mm or ideally 140mm Rad and an alphacool eisberg, a gtx980 graphics card as yet unbought (bidding on ebay) , and I7 (i got very lucky on ebay), probably the Asrock Z97E-ITX as opposed to either of the Asus boards - still making a final choice! I have the western digital 3TB HD and the Intel 730 SSD and they will likely have to be bodged/ghettoed in. Fans will be by Noctura to keep noise down
The plan is to watercool both the graphics card and the cpu to get maximum performance verses noise in such a small case with little difficult airflow. I have never watercooled before and have been watching watercooling video like crazy on youtube.
As I have said the box need to be very small to fit into a rucksack with an oculus rift and headphones. It needs to also be very quiet and unobtrusive as possible, so as not to distract the user - the need for complete immersion is critical to its use and thus keeping noise down is vitally important
OK, so yes I would like to put a bid in for the GTX980 waterblock and backplate and any fitting if that's OK? I admit that anything that saves me money would be appreciated, as having to build this means i am making so hard choices about what i can afford to do beyond pay the rent and stay warm.
I say having to build this because I am planning on using the rig to help treat someone’s life threatening Complex/Chronic PTSD via the use of Immersion Therapeutic approach - there is some evidence that this will work!
I also plan to use it for research into the treatment of combat stress, the US army has some research into this but their is the potential, if correctly structured, to create tools and environments for combat stress survivors to help each other via immersion using VR and specialist FPS maps. To be able to access and heal the hidden wounds in a context where its safe to to express the hell they survived. I must however say this very much blue sky research, it may help but its still very uncertain and also depends on how well I am month to month.
Oh and I'm in the UK so postage would be cheaper :)
I am well aware that your aim is for this to go to one of your regular members of your forum and as such I am interloper but I felt that at least I should ask
thanks

my r5e

-I am planning to water cool the entire system by using all ek's product.
