Efficient Graphics

Hey all =)

Looking into a card upgrade and needed either input or websites to determine which card to get. I am looking for a power efficient yet decent performance card.. looking at possibly a 7870 right now.

Any other high / good performance cards with power efficiency ideas are welcomed.

7850 & 660Ti + to be honest. The shift to 28nm on the GPUs have made for some very high performing yet efficient graphics cards.

You have to be more specific. You cant just say you want an efficient card that is powerful. Are you looking for best performance to watt ratio, price to watt ratio, or price to performance ratio? Because the 670 and the 680 are the best options for offering the best performance per watt, which is what energy efficiency is measured in. Just because something is less powerful does not mean it is offering you the best performance to watt ratio. The 680 may use more but still holds the best ratio. Or I would recommend a GTX650 because it uses the least amount.

That being said, the GTX650 is LESS efficient than the GTX680.

As you can see, while the 650 is defiantly efficient, the 680 still beats it in efficiency.

A 680 is about twice the price of the 7870 though. I'm sure the OP is after a more sensibly priced card. a 7870 will be a great upgrade from a 4870 X2 Bullmecha
