ECS mobo GRRR

Ok so if youve noticed i kinda have a new rig. Cpu is awesome, RAM is aweosme, the BOARD SUCKS!! I have to run my RAM at DDR2 667 speeds cause it takes 2.2v but my board only gives it 1.8. Ive just noticed that after about an hour of gaming it freezes still. (Thats what it did at 800mhz cept in like 2 seconds). So maybe i have to drop speed AGAIN. Is their a way i can flash my bios to get a ram voltage setting in it? Im not afraid of a possible mess up, just an excuse to get a better board sooner.

Ok the first question is what in the HELL possessed u to buy an ECS mobo? U won't be able to get any worthwhile voltage adjustments out of her, u need a new board mate.

Speak to kemp. He's been trying to review an ECS board for aaages and has been getting the same problems as you I think.

i think he got that CPU/MOBO/RAM for a really low price
Correct. I got everything for under 200 bucks on sale at Frys. I just wanted to give myself a quick upgrade so i could give my dad my old system so he can play the same games as me.

Really? Why would he want to review an ECS board? lawlll

I don't really think "want" would be the correct word to describe Kemps feelings for this review ;)

But hey, we can't just cover the cool expensive stuff :p

There IS a market for cool, and affordable. But i dont see the point in reviewing cheap POS thats thrown in a combo for free thats on the edge of barely working. :( Tis a shame really. So far the only problems ive seen was the ram voltage which i got around by underclocking to 667 and it dosent like me removing IDE cables from the slot. It gives me beeps and i have to shut it down and wiggle the ram. Also, ive noticed that the PCI-E slot is 8x instead of 16x and i have 10/100 instead of Gigabit which is advertised on the box. Also, idk about him but my Vista drivers on the cd didnt work either. What a pain, im never buying a combo from Frys again unless its one of their Asus ones. Whats really lame though is for Black Friday they had a Q6600 and (better board) ECS board combo for 200$ and my ram for 40. I almost cried when i found out :(

To hopefully prevent people from making the same mistake as you ;)

I had an ECS C19 A-SLI in my first build. It was pretty damn good tbh way better than the 3 previous Asus boards that come before it.

Since it has SLI in the name id be willing to bet it had a pretty decent chipset so thats why it was probably a decent board. I have a Geforce6100 chipset and it has integrated video. Says it supports DDR2 800 dual channel (which it does) but it dosent support enough volts to run that speed.
