eBay - now with no negative feedback for sellers!

Wow that is absolutely horrible!!!

I just listed my MacBook on eBay about 10 minutes ago and they have yet another new discouraging "protection" system set in place.

Basically what it stated is that after you sell the item and the winning bidder pays PayPal freezes the amount sent to you for 21 days and doesn't let you have access to it to try and help ensure the buyer gets the goods in satisfactory condition, etc.... The only way that you can get your money faster is if the buyer leaves positive feedback for the sale as soon as they receive it and then I guess PayPal will give you your money.

That is some of the most bogus

I've ever heard of. If I sell something I want the money NOW, and I also want to be able to use that money to cover the expense of packing and shipping the item.

eBay has gone off the deep end Hitler style IMO.

Ebay should honestly be shut down and come back later on with a new name, new people, and a new way of doing things.

Hmmmm...They make too much money to care i think. Personally i think that the new policies they have put in place, this holding of money nonsense goes against sellers rights. Surely you could get Trading Standards of the office of fair trading (i dont know if they are the same) involved??

I think that they have just lost it. Iv just closed my account in the last 30 min, so thanks guys for letting me know about these amazing stupid regulations they have in place. Paypal closed too...

Its taking "the customer is always right" phrase a little too far, a little too quickly. But tbh it's no different than being a retailer and having to put up with customers leaving you resellerratings feedback that you cant respond to.

At the end of the day, so long as you dont withhold any information at all and are always polite and helpful to the buyer, then you shouldn't get too much neg feedback.

The golden 100% positive feedback WILL disappear from ebay, but I think buyers will adapt and realize that anything 95%+ is more than acceptable.

I hardly ever use it really (30 buys in 2 years) and i am always dubious about what i buy

in my experience ive had

1) a guy who sold me a pc case (stating it had a window) whereas it was the version without...ebay and paypal did sweet FA to help me (and i wasnt goin to shell £30 out just to have paypal inspect the dispute)

2) a chinese company telling me they were based in the UK...in the small print after buying they had to ship the products over from china...even tho the product was listed as "UK SELLER"...grr

And other annoyances - some have been pretty good deals il give them that but it all comes down to money...money...money and care 0%

Probably started going downhill since going international really (Hong Kong dominates a large amount really)

The trouble is with reseller-ratings you won't often get people looking on there, whereas eBay feedback is right there when you buy the goods
