E22 Cable Combs

Hey all

I have a question about the E22 cable combs, I'm using the Corsair Sleeved Modular Cable Kit, Only the cables i'm using is 24pin ATX Cable, 4+4 EPS/ATX12V CPU cable, Peripheral 4-pin Molex Power cable, 6+2 PCI- E pigtail cable & SATA Power 4-Head cable. So my question is how many cable combs should i be using per cable.

Depends how long the cables are, Personally I'd use 2 for each of the most exposed cables to get the straightest lines possible.

well you need to consider which cable combs too but, you should just order a batch with some spare and then for future builds etc you have something to use. They aren't expensive, only costly thing for you is the shipping I guess which means it would be nicer to have a surplus stock no?

Be careful with the E22 combs, They are brittle and I've broken a few by accident so order a few spares just in case as Warchild pointed out.

Yeah i was thinking about going 3 each, i can't remember the length of the top of my head cause corsair adds 2 different lengths, I will have to check to see if i'm using the 600mm or the 750mm, but if i was going to guess i would say the 600, Also i'm watching about 10 to 15 of them of ebay but they are different size ones

Yeah that is what i'm thinking about doing yes you are right about the price but the problem i have is that no local places here has them so i have to buy them from SpecialTech on ebay and its the shipping which is the killer

I would say in the region of 0 per cable.


Primarily because the corsair cables are too fine, they won't work as intended. Secondly because they look stupid and lastly they always break, less than 30% of the ones I've used have survived. If you can hide them somewhere and the cable is well trained enough to stay in position through to the component they are ok but I think you'll find the corsair cables just fall out of them.

You could lace the cables, there are guide threads on this forum which if not overdone can yield good results. Another alternative might be the stealth style E22 combs which would require disassembling the cables. It's not that hard if you have the right tool after a little practice, just do one wire at once and it should go fine.

Alternatively you could just use cable ties like always with a little more patience and attention. Get all the cables curved and layered nicely before hand then hold them tightly around the back. I've found that's the best thing to do with corsair cables as if you ever handle any proper sleeved cables you'll discover they are very different!

Ok which one would you lean more towards the stealth style or cable ties in other word which will make me less mad.

zip ties are ur bestest buddy lol. I gave the cable combs a go and while they can be nice. But if you tinker about the case a fair amount you'll find them a royal PITA as I did. I just tidied up my runs where they looked neat and uniform in a circular bunch and put a zip tie on them snug enough they didnt wander about but loose enough they didnt get creased.

I might give the zip ties a try 1st, but knowing my luck i will not be happy on how it will turn out, I'm very fussy :lol:
