Driver update freezing system

Hi

I tried to update my new RX470 drivers and it froze my system and after a restart my GPU just won't work at all need help.

running Win 10 64bit
i7-6700k
MSI Z170A G45 Gaming
MSI RX470 Gaming X 4GB

Yes I am but if I try and install any drivers for my 470 same thing happens system freezes.

Old driver still work?

DId you clean the previous driver off before updating?

I have reseated in each PCI-E slot and done older drivers but still freezes

I'd make sure all cables from PSU to any endpoint are very snug in addition to anything connected to te motherboard. If they are loose, could cause the system to freeze. It'd be mostly sata cables, i had a "locked" sata cable, but it was actually ever so slightly bent on the pin side and was just enough to cause my system to freeze at random irregular intervals. Swapped it out and problem never occured again.

After that, it's either hardware related like memory or GPU, and other software options would be you or Windows somehow really messed up playing with drivers and it's causing crashes. If in safe mode with drivers disabled it fails, i'd lean towards hardware or a Windows update like the recently released Anniversary update for W10. It has caused problems for some.

I had similar issues a few months back not freezing but random restarts followed by boor failures, took me a week of testing to identify the seemingly good psu was the cause
