Should have stockpiled ram last christmas. Bought in december a 16GB 1600MHz kit for 67 euros. My brother bought the same kit now in june and paid 135 euros...
Edit: It now costs 153 euros... They must be joking!

Seems we get these fires every few years and there is panic RAM price hikes. Is there someone stock-piling RAM and going around with a box of matches every so often?

I think they do these "fires" on purpose to keep prices and profits up. Otherwise they would be almost giving ram away. Instead prices have more than doubled since christmas... The burnt factory will be payed by the insurance company, so no problem for them there.
