Downsizing my rig

Hello everyone,
I posted this elsewhere but hoping to get some different views here,

I currently have my rig all open as the case is an Antec Skeleton and the cooler I have for 2011 doesn't let the roof go on the case so I want a change to tidy it up and make it a lot cleaner and sleeker.
Trying not to bore you guys with the details so I'll just post the specs that matter and what I see my options as.

Current Spec:
MSI X79A-GD65 8D
Intel i7-3820
Antec Skeleton
2x SSDs and 1x HDD

Due to limited desk space I want to be getting a Bitfenix Prodigy, my minds pretty much made up on that.
The confusing bit for me is what to put in it, do I try and mod the Prodigy to fit an mATX X79 board in there, or do I sell both the mobo and cpu and get an ITX 1155/1150 setup.
What sort of spec am I looking at for selling a 3820 and X79 GD65 board?

Any input you've got on this would be great :)

I'd sell the CPU and motherboard and go for an Ivy Bridge mITX board as I don't think you're going to be getting any mITX X79 boards.

You could wait for Haswell, but benches are suggesting its little to nothing of an upgrade over Ivy Bridge.

OK, why don't you come at this from a slightly different pov. Post a piccie of the desk space that you have available/or where you want it to go. That way people may be able to come up with innovative ideas, and maybe even keep some of your current kit.:)

Well, here is what it looks like at the moment, a complete mess with the cables and being so open.

The depth of the desk is only 440mm so a 300R is too big to fit on the right way and I can't put anything underneath the desk.

What's your overall budget dude? I'm sure there is a mid tower out there that will suite that space.

No budget really in my mind but don't want to spend much if I'm changing the board, would rather do a straight swap of board + CPU for ITX board + CPU.

I think the best fitting case is really the Prodigy because it does have such a small footprint.

what are the dimensions were working with here?? that pic doesnt really give alot of detail. Have you looked at the haf XB??

Width and Height don't really matter, just keeping the depth below 440mm is what matters, so a case of 400mm or less leaving space for cables round the back.
Just had a look at the HAF XB and not a fan of the looks.

well she wone win beauty contests but shes very versatile and will still allow you to keep your 2011 setup.

Yeah but the main reason for me wanting a change is because of the looks, so it doesn't really make sense going from one bad looker to a slightly better looker just to keep my current setup.

Realistically what price would I get for the board and cpu and what can I buy with that in mITX form?

Anyone?
How much would I sell my X79A-GD65 and 3820 for? And what would I be able to get with it?

To me it sounds like your mind is pritty made up about changing to mITX, For your board and CPU you could get anything from £200 - £400 depending on the condition and who you sell it too, other than that i would save the wait and just go with Ivy!!

Well now I may change my mind again, as the mATX prodigy is coming out soon, I could get that and keep the CPU.
