Downgrading bios/Maximus III formula

I was wondering if anyone knows how to down grade a bios, i recently upgraded my bios on my Maximus III formula to 1202 and have been having problems with it. Ever since that bios my computer will lock up every once in awhile and when it restarts it gives me a error saying "Overclock has failed" i get this message and im not even overclocking which is wierd.

I tried using ASUS's bios Update to downgrade but it refuses to do it, also tried using the clear cmos button on my motherboard which is clears my bios settings. Also tried booting from a usb drive to revert the bios that way but when i try it, it comes up with a message saying the bios im trying to use is a older version and just quits.

Im pretty much out of ideas, only other thing i can think of is to wait for another bios release.

thanks for your help.

You could wait for another BIOS to arrive or you could try flashing from a cd. Not sure if it'll work since flashing from an usb stick failed but there's no harm in trying is there?

Thanks i didnt think to use the driver/software cd. I will try it out, and if it doesnt work i guess ill just have to wait for a new bios.

If you don't mind me asking.. why did you flash in the first place?

I wasnt having any problems but ive always been told you should always stay up to date with bios updates. which seemed to back fire on me.

Ah right well you could say that again:p

It sux though, hope you can fix it

It was actually the store i purchased all my parts to build my new system, the guy that ran the store told me to keep up on the bios updates. I guess it was bad advice. I was just looking at asus's web site and it says to only update the bios if your having problems. And i think im more inclinded to believe them.
