That Dothan is a bad-ass CPU.
The P3 was always a great CPU, Intel have been flogging the P4 for far too long and have now realised that the Dothan is the king of the hill.
It's a great shame that to realise it's potential that you need to add an interface card - I imagine that interface rules out phase cooling.
I wonder if the waterchiller can be modded to fit and produce some really awesome scores or in fact what results a standard watercooled Dothan will overclock to.
Roll-On the dual core version of this - this CPU is probably the only weapon in the Intel ****nal that has a great chance of becoming the new king of the hill.
Dual core will of course cure the achilles heel of the Dothan core - video encoding.
It's really an exciting time for CPU's, but for me it's the delight of seeing the old architecture of the P3 come back to life and remind people of what they were prevented from using 3 years ago.
90nm Thoroughbred anyone?
And finally a BIG CONGRATS to the shigs for sharing this beauty with us and creating some cracking scores.
