Dominator problem

Hi all,

Sorry if this question has already been asked a 1000 times but...

I have 2 gig of dominator 1066mhz, in my bios it wont let me go higher than 800mhz any suggestions? I have ran memtest on them and both sticks are fine I think.

Second this memory is sli ready but in bios it wont let me select the sli memory ready setting, when I do the system wont boot.

I have read on other forums that I need a quad core before I can access 10066 in bios, is this true?

I had 4 gig of XMS2 800 in my system and I replaced it with the 2 gig of dominator thinking it would be better but that is not the case.

Can someone please shed some light on this as it is doing my head in?

Thanks in advance and again sorry if this has been asked before.

you got to remember its double data rate

so you double the clockspeed

533mhz is stock & 1066mhz

800mhz is & 1600mhz

(i may be wrong though )

Yeah I know but when setting it in BIOS it is set at the double rate ie 800mhz or 1066mhz. When checking cpuz it is running at 400nhz=800mhz

you could check if the voltage settings in the bios are correct, it could be that those dominators need more voltage to work on 1066 mHz

checked and voltage is right. even tried upping it and still nowt. the fact that 1066mhz isnt available in bios puzzles me. i have tried the memory in the other 2 slots and its just the same
