I had my prommie regassed to 507 by Phil a while back (great job)and i am going to start my rebuild now.My cpu was fine when i stripped the unit down ,but will the lower temps mean i need to use grease , if so where do i put it.

Thanks

You dont *have* to use it but many do as a precaution, rub into into the socket and fill the little hole in the center of the socket.

I usually put it around the back of the boardaswell under the heater and around the main socket for added effect but it more paranoia than anything.

Now get that sucker connected and show us some highly clocked screenies ;)

Just be careful if you do decide to use dielectric grease and dont get it every where. This stuff will render the seal string totally stickyless and thus air will enter into the hermetic cell. Oh by the way don't get this stuff in your eyes it burns like mad, I learned the hard way after I itched my eye during and install, lets just say the install was delayed for a bit

I second Marvt74, we need some pics of what improvements this regas has made.

Thanks.

:O LOL!

I'd recommend the use of it, a number of people have lost expensive hardware due to corrosion - so I personally think a few quid for grease is worth it!

Its an interesting point, I had a vapochill xeII before this mach 2 and asetek recommend the use of grease which I did, nowhere does it mention the use in the installation of a mach 2?

It's because you dont have to use it. But you can if you want.
