Do All GTX 980 Ti Suffer From Coil Whine?

The Strix would be a sure bet, however those new models won't be available in Denmark before September it seems. Doubt I can wait that long. For some reason both ASUS and EVGA have a very hard time keeping stock of the 980 Ti series in Scandinavia.

Personally I can vouch for EVGA 980Ti Reference, if you can bear up with the bit louder fan, then it's solid. Specially since you wrote maybe a Titan X, which ONLY comes with reference coolers. Then better off with 980Ti ref, they're a beast!

I'm actually considering getting myself another one, for my first dual gpu beastness and sexyness! :)

Actually I've always used either ASUS or EVGA graphics cards. It's worth considering for sure.

UPDATE:

Got my new EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB SC+ in today and it only has a tiny amount of noise, but it's really so faint it's impossible to hear once the fans start to speed up. Actually much the same like my old ASUS 780 Ti Matrix Platinum, so I'm a happy nerd!

Oh I got a 50% off coupon for my next EVGA SuperNova PSU, that's an awesome deal!

4th GTX 980 Ti in for testing, this one is even worse than the first G1 Gaming. Now with video. I'm starting to get really pissed off about this. And this isn't even normal coil whine, it's just a high pitched electronic buzz. So turning on v-sync does nothing to remove it.

Hello, have you tried switching around your psus? I have the EVGA 1000G2 (very similar to yours), a EVGA 980ti, and I also have coil whine. Maybe this will help. Although, I don't have this much coil whine, just a little bit.

I actually own the EVGA 1000 G2 PSU now as well, but I'm not having issues with my EVGA 980 Ti though. The little noise it had went away over a few weeks, so no complaints here. Guess I should just stick with EVGA/ASUS in the future and give the rest the middle finger
