DirectX 11 to be announced this Month

Maybe they should give game devs a bit of a chance to get to grips with 10 before moving onto 11.

Another case of Microsoft trying to rush to many products out imo.

You can finish the article on DX10.1 and post it if you want. ;)

DX11?!

DX10 hasn't been used to it's full capacity (only in Crysis) and DX10.1 is basicly non-exsistent. DX9 was out for.. 6 years but with updated shader models..

DX10 has not even been touched.. Crysis was hardly DX10 in my opinion.

I think there is more to come from DX10.

Who cares if they bring out DX11?
we also heard that Multithreaded Rendering
Ah, bout damn time. How many times have we said Software needs to catch up to hardware? Well i say its about damn time its the other way around.

On another note, i wonder if i get to go for free since its on my birthday :D

I'm seriously starting to think PC's are a waste of time. Endless, pointless rehashs of tech equal upgrades with no real progress... DX10 needs a few years on the scene to let hardware catch up.

Imagine how badly current cards would handle DX11 and judging by the progress of gpu's recently I don't see how future ones will do any better...

We needed a card twice as powerful as the 280 last quarter!

Also, where are all the games?!

Oh wow new and shiny software to take advantage of the already ancient hardware.

Get the motherboard architecture right first you half brained idiots. Anyone with a brainstem can see that multithreading is being held back by the motherboard architecture (which has been present in the same-ish format since the 386 days), set up the god damn motherboard for proper parallel processing with many memory controllers before you go galvaniting off making what will only be useless software improvements because speed will still be limited by the damn memory controller.

GAH!!

I laugh at everybody saying hardware needs to catch up. Becasue i honestly think yall are the same people screaming software needs to catch up when new hardware becomes availible. *thinks back to PCI-E 3.0 thread*

LOL

Which is exactly why hardware and software developers should work in unison so this cr@p doesn't happen. That way we get the best out of everything.

dx10 has not caught on due to the majority staying with xp,so is dx11 for the next windows OS?if so that means all the people who bought vista (myself included) have been suckered

Windows 7 is said to be out around the same time as DX11.. so I think people are thinking it will be with the next OS. :)
