Right so looking at my friends rig the other day got me thinking, "why is my 2500k running so warm in comparison?".
I installed a Coolermaster 212+ cooler on his 2500k and the temps were showing around 15-18C idle and this is using the supplied thermal paste made by Coolermaster (well branded at least).
Now I have watercooling, a good rad and good fans to remove the water out of the loop. Before my initial OC, I had temps at around 30C idle! I've also used Noctua's own thermal paste which is supposedly pretty good (NH-1 stuff I think it's called) so could it be the contact of my block to the CPU isn't tight enough?
It's not that I'm worried because obviously when I have the OC I'm getting temps under the max, but I wouldn't mind them to be a bit cooler.
Any thoughts welcome.
