Difference between an EK Watercooled 1070 to a non - performance gain and voltages
Hello all, happy new year.
If the 1070 cards cannot achieve over a certain voltage to be worthy of installing an AOI cooler, why do MSI offer these:
EK: https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1070-SEA-HAWK-EK-X.html#hero-overview
Sea Hawk: https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1070-SEA-HAWK-X.html#hero-overview
Exactly the same specifications as this:
Frozor: https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GEFORCE-GTX-1070-GAMING-X-8G.html#hero-overview
I can understand that an EK block will keep the vram cooled, but again, if the voltage can only go so high, so would the GPU VRAM and processor. would it be worthy of a EK Block ?
Would this be for aesthetic reasons only ? Seems like quite an expensive aesthetic purchase if this is the case ?
Perhaps to ensure the cards keep extra cool to last longer ? Even then the cards should last without.
Am I missing something ?
Cheers
