Difference in water? Supermarket vs Cooling specific

Hello,
I'm planning to build a new computer, and wanted to try my hand at water cooling and I was wondering;
Does the water make a difference?

Specifically, is their any difference in the distilled water at my local supermarket and this stuff?

I know, quite the newbie question, but as I said, this is my first attempt at water cooling.
Thanks in advanced guys!

EDIT: One more question: How much water would you for a simple loop like this?

There isn't any difference between normal distilled water and coolant performance wise, although there are some coolants that are supposed to give lower temps with better heat transfer but I haven't read up on those so i'm not to sure about them.

The only other difference is premix coolant comes with anti corrosive chemicals. If you go with distilled water or non-premix coolant you will need to add some biocide and/or a silver coil. It's best to go with premix coolant though, it has everything you need and you get to choose the color to match with your rig.

As for how much you would need, between 1 and 2 liters. Best to get 2 liters, you wont need any more than 2 for sure and any left over will keep for when you need to top up.

You don't have to use a silver coil but you will need biocide, I think Mayhem's dye comes with it, not sure though.

"Please note Mayhems Dye does not contain any biocide so we recommend either a Silver Kill Coil, PT Nuke or similar product."
I guess I need one still, LOL.

You will be fine with just biocide/PT nuke or similar, but you can still use a silver coil if you want.

Dont be fooled into buying snake oil distilled water. Its the same stuff from the hardware store.
Grab a decent amount, as you will want to flush the radiator before you install it. Plus its not like its expensive. Its like $3 AUD here for 4L.
Biocide additive or a silver coil. Both of which I have honestly never touched. I run few drops of a clear anti-corrosion car coolant additive.
Thats a great kit to get your feet wet (excuse the pun) into watercooling. Expansive for when you add your gpu in the mix etc.
Good luck mate.

Just make sure that the distilled you get doesn't have additives in it such as fluoride. Otherwise, no difference at all.
