DFI X38 problems

At the moment my comp is acting very strange, whenever it is shut down for any length of time it will refuse to boot back up.When I try to start it up what happens is it will start for .3 of a second and shut off,and it will do this for 10 mins or so,then it will start for .5 sec, then it will slowly last longer and longer each time before staying on long enough to post.I am running the same bios that came with the board(w3bbo flashed to the latest before I bought it)cant see the bios as a problem as everything was working fine until recently.Could this be a power supply problem,as I have some serious doubts over this PSU after reading over at jonnyguru that this thing can only really push 360W (hiper 580 type r).

So do I need a new PSU or is this just one of the usual DFI quirks?

Could be a PSU issue. Do you have another to test it against?

Thanks, I was too lazy to check his profile :p

Could also be the RAM. Test each stick individually to see if the problem persists. Make sure you are running the RAM at Crucial's recommended voltage and if you haven't already up the voltage on the NB a little to cope with 4 sticks.

Have you tried setting the BIOS to Optimized Settings or Fail-Safe settings?

looks like I made a mistake,I only have 2 sticks not 4(dont know how I made that mistake)

The ram is running at manf.spec and passes memtest with no worries. No at the moment I dont have a spare, well actually I do have a no name 500w but it does not have enough sata connectors,so even if I use it,there is no comparsion to what my full rig pulls.I dont want to have to buy a new PSU unless I know for sure, but looks like I have no choice.I need Bungral to hurry up and put his cm up for grabs

TBH mate I have had 3 of these babies and every one of them broke or produced symptoms like this. Turned out to be the PSU every time, also did my RAM in aswell.

Horrible PSU imho.

I wonder if this is the reason my new drive just failed!.Why do these always happen when I am skint!!

anyone got a CHEAP PSU for sale

well after buying a PSU from Bungral(cheers mate for the quick sale:worship:)every thing appears to be ok.I am now back at 3.8 with my gpu folding and the 12v rail is at a stable 11.84v.So now its time to shoot for 4ghz:D
