DFI Problems?

My system specs are in my signature. I was just wondering if anyone has a similar setup running phase. I'll be getting my Vapochill XE in a week or so and wanted to whether or not my DFI/Opty 146 combo will play nicely.

Opterons are known in the market for suffering with a cold bug - given the cooling capacity of the XE it is possible that you can overcome this by running fully overclocked (thus pushing the temps into the plus figures).

I see no other problems you may encounter.

Sweet, any idea of my o/c'ing potential with the setup I have? I have some OCZ PC4000VX coming. I already have the OCZ Ram Voltage module. Mobo gives me a nice %135 over 1.55v for the cpu.

1.5v x 113% with 623-2 Bios will give you the best results ocz ram will only give you up to 265Mhz so you way have to run your ram at 166mhz (ram divider option in the BIO settings) to realise the full overclock potential of the Opteron chip ;)

Wow, lol. Kinda skipped past all the useless posts and put all the useful info into one, huh maverik? Thanks man, I'll have to try this out when I get home. Would I be better off keeping my Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC4000 and just selling the OCZ 4000VX when I get it?

I'd keep the ram, sell the Opteron and get urself on ebay and buy the FX57 wk16 for £500 or look for a bargain FX55.

I wish I could, but I definitely can't afford an FX :-(

I only budgeted an Opty and money's kinda tight.
