Ok I think Dell deserves a bit more credit for its products than what it's getting in this thread, let's be fair now. There are FAR more brands out their are FAR worse than Dell in the computer industry...... eMachines, Gateway, Acer ring a bell, just to name a few.
Agreed on the tech support, their consumer based support is absolutely horrible and I know from personal experience. However, their product is quality and it's hard to deny that if you've owned a Dell in the past. I purchased two Dell's last year and loaded them up with 6600GT's and 2gb's of RAM to go in my gaming lounge and they ripped, made for sweet LAN parties, and they never gave me any gaff. I also just sold a 10 year old Dell laptop to PV down in Australia, and it still runs like the day it was purchased with the exception of some battery issues which is to be expected after 10 years.
So yeah, I wouldn't give Dell so much grief, they don't make horrible computers. In the way of store-bought and pre-assembled machines they are one of the best.
