Dell IPS UltraSharp U2312HM for $179.99?

I am wondering what you guys thinks of this Dell IPS monitor for gaming? Plan on playing BF3, Batman, GTA and more all on ultra using a Gigabyte GTX670. So pretty much: Are IPS monitors good for gaming, or should I get a TN monitor for the same price? Is Displayport better than HDMI or are they equivalent?

They are very good monitors. I was recommended one when I was looking but I didnt have the money so had to settle for a cheaper option. As for the IPS - it's amazing basically. They provide such great colour vibrancy and picture quality, along with brightness. Afaik, the Dell doesnt ghost

Thanks for the quick response! According to some users they have said the eIPS screen isn't as nice as a true IPS screen (sorry if I sound like a noob) and they have experienced a lot of ghosting :s. Have you heard about the eIPS quality compared to a true IPS? I am really considering since it is $120 off for the next few hours!

I use the iiyama prolite X2377HDS and dont notice any ghosting at all, and that's one of the cheapest IPS monitors around.

That was my thread when I bought mine, and a lot of people were recommending the Dell

You will be fine with an eIPS monitor. As James has said you should not experience any ghosting at all.
