Have Dell offered you any assistance in your search? I emailed our account manager first thing this morning and their response was basically to go round to every laptop and check them ourselves. We've got around 100 D610s and D620s, not just in the UK! Going to be a pain in the ares

We asked them as we had purchased 650 D610's and approx 300 d620's if they knew what batteries were fitted. The answer, no.

Our server team wrote a batch file script to get the serial number of each battery from every Dell laptop that is put on the network. If the laptop has a faulty battery then it will display a message on the screen telling the user to remove the battery,:worship: cleaver sods

heard about this on the news. Thanks god we dont use dell. would of been a nightmare as we sell to schools.

It's certainly going to be a costly little exercise; both for Dell and the manpower/time used to check for the faulty ones. Especially in large schools, business or govt offices

The thing that annoying is that Dell say they can't supply a list of all the faulty ones we've bought, but when you go on the website and type in the serial number of a faulty battery it gives you the serial number of the machine!

LOL Dell and their nonsensical ways You'd think that they'd be able to provide a list of faulty affected systems if their website can tell you

According to me the dell explain that we cant supply any list which is a faulty one. we have baught but when you go on to the website and if type a serial number of a faulty battery it will give you the serial no of a machine.
