Just wondering if any of you use any third party defrag apps as the inbuilt windows one is pretty poor. I was planning on getting O&O V8.0 professional however I've heard Diskeeper 10 is better? Is this the case? There is also perfectdisc but I don't know anything about that one.

Cheers guys.

Hi nick, yes diskeeper 10 mate, i have the diskeeper 9 and made a lot of differance with start up and running apps, but the new diskeeper 10 is ment to be better

Have either of you tried O&O ? Just been reading a bit more and now everyone is saying O&O is better! Also any ideas if this will be compatible with vista when it comes out - don't really want to buy it only finding myself having to buy a newer version when vista comes out.

If its XP64 compatable then I guess it will be, although I believe Vista comes with a new file system, so I guess as long as you stickk to the old faithful (FAT32 or NTFS) it'll be good.

Vista will be bugged when it's released Nick mate, probs riddled with compatability/driver issues, I already decided to wait for SP1 to be released before I even consider the conversion.

Cheers Mav, I also plan to wait until the majority of bugs are ironed out - just thinking in advance. Perhaps they might be nice and give free upgrade or something if it isn't compatible. End of the day only around £20 so not the end of the world.

Thanks for all replies.
