Dead Cpu???

How does the system behave if an AMD64 CPU is dead?

Would the system just not post at all, as it seems this is what mine is doing at the mo. I have tried two different GPUs

Use one stick of ram in the orange slot closest to the cpu I think then try ram in each slot seperatley see if it boots also how many leds are lit on the mobo....these boards are very finicky

I tired clearing the CMOS, I'll try the RAM thing...

Yeah I had a board that just didnt want too boot I rma'd it and they said it was fine got it home still no boot till I tried the whole ram swap thing lol

Tried a new RAM stick and it's working fine! Silly board, it is...

If you have anymore problems there are a series of red lights on the board under the graphics cards is the diagnostics.

4 lights system start up

3 lights cpu detected

2 lights dram detected

1 light vga detected

no lights system boot up!!
