Hi Guys,

Thought I would post as I am currently moving a ton of data between drives.

I have bought a Western Digital Caviar Green 1.5TB SATA-II 32MB Cache and I am transfering 800gb of data to it from a Western Digital Caviar Green 1 TB SATA-II 32MB Cache.

My question is this, I am currently transferring the data at 55.4mbs a sec, is there anyway to speed this up?

The rest of my hardware is as per my signature and I am pretty sure I am running the latest drivers.

Short answer - Nope. Its running at the drives max.

I find that if i run xcopy or a robocopy command within DOS that it copies a lot quicker than using Windows.

heres part of a recent log file

(Sata to USB Drive)

Bytes : 29.034 g

Times : 0:19:39

Speed : 26442533 Bytes/sec.

Speed : 1513.053 MegaBytes/min.

(Sata to Sata)

Bytes : 18.480 g

Times : 0:08:27

Speed : 39086896 Bytes/sec.

Speed : 2236.570 MegaBytes/min.

I get 50mb/s over cat5e.

I can only think u either use eSATA or plug the thing directly into the computers sata.
