csrss.exe BSOD 0x00000f4?

hi people

just wondering if anyone can help me!

these bsods in win 7 ultimate decided to trigger two days ago when i went into a css 30 man game, it happened when alot of things where going on, but the main reason was when an admin played a sound whilst my fps dropped below the 60 fps mark!

then after the computer rebooted i opened firefox went onto facebook then when on youtube and played a 720p video and then the computer suddenly bsoded again!

the things i've checked:

swapped ram around, 2x2gb dual channel slots, 1x2gb one channel, 512 sticks, 8gb of kingston ram, 4gb of kingston ram

put my cpu to stock, raised my v.core on overclock.

swapped 4670 to IGP then to a 9800gtx+ and then to a friends gtx 260.

un-installed the last things before my bsod, including my cs4 master suite

in the DMP file it seems its pointing towards my csrss.exe? which im guessing is quiet an important application .

any help would be appreciated.

I've heard of this being a video problem, I don't know whether it's with codecs or the Windows installation itself. I have no time to search at the moment. Could also be related to HDD.

This is the client-server-runtime-process. It can be that the file is damaged, but it can also be the case that the user profile is busted - particularly if u also get long pauses when u right-click on stuff.

If it's ur profile, u need to back ur shizzle up, delete ur user profile and have windows re-create it the next time u login. This problem can be caused by millions of things.

If the csrss file is damaged... not sure about that one. If it's viral damaged, perhaps a scanning software could fix it. It's a system critical file, one of those ones u can't close from taskman.

thanks for the info rast, looks like its getting no better so it looks like im going down the long arse road of backing up and re-installing a fresh OS, the only real way to garantee success i guess.

also the pausing you talk about when right clicking kinda simulates in css, if a sound is loaded on the server like if you get a headshot, the game will suddenly stutter or bsod :S.

Just thought also, u could just create another account on the pc and see if that works.
