Hey all,
Just dropping a line here to try and save my Gateway EV910. Its been a great monitor but it is in need of repair, I have no skills to do it. Anyone in the central Texas area know of anyone that may be able to save it?
Any other help would be great. Thanks in advance!!

The screen is still a nice beautiful view but I can't adjust it out of the hourglass shape its in. The sides bow inwards no matter what video card or rig I use. I am thinking it's a cap that went bad but I am no expert with electronic repair.

Sounds to me like a deflection coil is on it's way out, have you tried the auto adjust setting? If that fails it's the coil. It's been a very long time since I repaired any CRTs and I wouldn't recommend you go poking around the cathode tube unless you are skilled enough to know what you're doing, worse case you suffer the ultimate and end up 6 feet under the opposite side is suffering a nasty crack of the old electricity and numbness for a week, get a professional to take a look.

I have tried every adjustment I can and its still in the hourglass shape. Yeah it's a dated item for sure. I was going to build my P4 XP gaming rig for it but I have yet to find any shop or person that would fix it. I'm gonna hate just tossing it.

Can we not hijack the thread until OP has at least found a solution guys? :)

You can move it to Small Talk if you want!
