Crossfire working weirdly

So I've finally been able to connect up my custom cables from James over at Pexon, Thank you by the way, great job, but when it came to plug the monitors into the gpu I done it blind just by feel, as there isn't much room behind the case, so I plugged all 3 in and turned it all on. As to be expected it all powered on as it should.

There lies the weird bit, when I looked at the inside of my case, I realised that I had plugged all the monitor cables into the bottom card, not the top card. So I opened up CCC to rearrange my eyefinity group, and enable crtossfire, no problems all went smooth. I then opened GPU-Z x 2 one for each gpu, and all is running fine, along with now my intel graphics are no registering on GPU-Z where as before they didn't.

Another odd thing is, the bottom gpu, that all monitors are plugged into,l bought of a member on here, with the understanding that the hdmi, output didn't work, and it didn't on it's own, or with DVI, but for eyefinity with DP it now works. Strange, very strange.

I was always under the impression that with Crossfire you had to use card one, the top card, if so what is going on with my set up, everything that should be happening, be it GPU-Z or in CCC is hunky dory, is this right or should I connect them up the way it should be ? Any ideas / thoughts guys ?

I'm pretty sure the cards decide themselves which is master and slave depending on which one has the monitors plugged in. I don't think the cards are aware of which slot they are plugged in to so they won't know which is top or bottom.
