Crooked GTX 580?

So, my brothers Asus Direct CUII GTX 580 is crooked for some reason. It's been like that since he got it, but it works perfectly fine. Is it something to be worried about?

Here's a picture:

MSI has a remedy for limp PCB with an edge brace found on their hawk cards. ive seen alot of the

GPU droop and there has got to be an aftermarket fix to provide lift and straightness. gotta be

puttin' alot of un-needed strain on some of the printed circuits...

for now id say its ok.. but look into some support.

Does it straighten if you hold it up yourself?

If it does, it's probably because the CUII cooler weighs more than the earth. I'd be extra careful not to let the machine take any knocks or jolts.

You could secure it to the roof with scythe ninja wire (specialtech has it) but it would look pretty ghetto.

You can re position the power connectors above the gpu and have them pull up. most of that strain is because your power connectors are pulling it down.

Thanks for the input, guys. I'll set the PCI cables higher and tighten them down so they provide lift if it works. If not we'll figure some ghetto method out. Kinda sucks having to that that, tho.

I'm not quite sure on the weight of your card compared to mine. However coincidently my current & previous cards have been like that also (different motherboards, so the PCI socket isn't broken/damaged).

It's one of those things where you have to be the judge, if you just take 1 finger and slowly and gentley lift that corner, does it feel quite weighty? Do you feel anything flexing? If so, I would look at something to support that hang.
