someone have the guts to nick my card detail, then got onto domainregistry.com and spend 30USD

just called up the card company and ask them for some assistance, they'll suspend the amount for 28days, and told me to check for anymore of these payments within this month, if needed, cancel the card and get a new one

happened to my dad the other month. But he had never used the card on the internet, so not sure where the details were robbed from. anyway, he had about £3000 stolen, the credit card company just refunded it and refused to take any legal action what so ever.

Its really bad when these companies dont try and catch people, just rely on insurance.

its not just from the internet that these things happen, your card can be swiped by the cashier at any store with a little slight of hand or a distraction :S

you dont even need a distraction, when the chip and pin came out in the UK, the fuel station shell had loads of problems, one of the staff at my local one was done.

He fitted a little machine to the pdq that read the card details onto file.

I have a suspicion that some of the "fraud" transactions u may find on u`r accounts at times are mistakes. Internal mistakes by the cc company.

Even if u don`t use u`r card much, always check u`r statements every month or so.

I didn`t get my account frozen, as I suggested they do, they just reissued a new card and number to me. Totally smelt of them making mistakes.

Cash withdraw for £19.00 - how`s that done then ? and a £3.00 charge for a cash withdraw.

I looked back over 6 months or so of statements and saw a small hanful of little things. Got it all back like (calculated all the extras too), but it`s the principle.

wow, just got a letter from me CC company, about fraudulent transaction

some geezer attempted to run up 800quid of transactions in USA, all within 24hrs.

well, have to take my hat of to whoever was doing it, clever enough to steal card details.....

blah, new card time, and must cancel all paypal account....i reckon its paypal thats causing it, lol, donno why

all too common these days, we get fraud going through our site, we spot it, don't send out goods and contact the card companies, they're not really interested, neither are the Police.

BUT some of the fraudsters are cheeky enough to ring up and 'chase' their delivery!!!!

Seems one of the ways they're doing it at the moment is to get it delivered to an address they know no one is at, picking up the 'we tried to deliver' card and taking it to the depot as proof (thats all some couriers require) and walking off with the goods

That`s all too true aswell. I`m pretty sure it`s not their `policy` to let the goods go without identification, but they do it quite alot.

Thing is we never tell the company that they allow us to do it cos we`re lazy.

Even though there all gumbars at our local city link depot, they do insist on ID, thank god.

Kinda half and half here, I've missed a couple of things in the past that have arrived via a post/courier and had to take the card down the local depot to collect it, although it's 50/50 on whether they ask for ID or not. Sometimes they just take the card, hand over the goods and job done. They should really ask for some identifaction though always. Although, to the OP, sorry to hear about the credit card fraud Never had it happen to me yet (touch wood), but I can imagine how harsh it would be even if "only" 30 USD, since it's your money at the end of the day paying for it.

With Capitalone at the moment, they are quite reasonable, never really had any bother with them but nothing that stands out as being exceptional Had a Barclays CC before also, horrible horrible company...

blah, it doesnt really matter anymore, these kind of stuff is happening too much, apart from annoying me due to filling in paper work for it i cant really be arsed to even think about it anymore.

and i've come up with the perfect solution!

request a CC that has only 300quid limit! PEEEERRRRRFECCCCCCCT!

hmmmm.......think i should cut up me other CC too, for a piece of mind....
